19 Apr 2015

Close to 250 senior executives will attend Arab Advisors Group’s Electronic & Mobile Payments in the Arab World Conference to discuss market trends and consumers behaviors in the electronic and mobile payments in the Arab World. 24 Local and regional industry leaders will address the ongoing trends in the regional landscape including Payments Infrastructure, the Mobile Ecosystem, Future of E-commerce and Payment Ecosystem, Role of regulatory entities in the introduction and development of electronic and mobile payment solutions among other trending topics.

Amman, April 19, 2015 - Under the Royal Patronage of HRH Princess Sumaya Bint El Hassan, President of the Royal Scientific Society, TheElectronic & Mobile Payments inthe Arab World Conference, will take place in Amman on the 21st of April 2015 at the Four Seasons Hotel.

The conference comes in the context of the fast changing dynamics of payments in the Arab World. According to Arab Advisors Group’s recent surveys, around 55% and 83% of e-commerce users in Saudi Arabia and Oman use credit cards as their e-commerce method of payment, respectively. Moreover, a recent survey conducted by the Arab Advisors Group revealed that around 45% of smartphone users in Jordan reported using e-commerce while 35% use m-commerce.

While Cash On Delivery (COD) and “Cash on Order” are still heavily used by Arab
e-commerce users, substantial numbers are turning to the electronic and mobile payments - which is more preferable by vendors - given the ease and comfort those payment methods provide. Moreover, the introduction of fully integrated
electronic payment solutions helped in the adoption of such payment methods. By April 2015, four countries in the Arab World had introduced their national electronic payment systems using the Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment (EBPP) model.

“Arab Advisors Group is proud to organize the Electronic & Mobile Payments in the Arab World Conference.
