A new Arab Advisors Group survey of Jordan’s smartphone and mobile application users was concluded in February 2015. The survey revealed that around 31% of the respondents are not aware of the operating system of their smartphone.
A new major survey of the Smartphone and Mobile application users in Jordan was concluded by the Arab Advisors Group in February 2015. The survey revealed that mobile app users constitute some 98% of total smartphone users in Jordan.
The survey report, “Smartphone & Mobile apps Use In Jordan" was released on April 6, 2015 and provides the results of a major comprehensive Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews (CATI) survey of Smartphone and Mobile apps use in Jordan. The survey probes the respondents’ adoption and habits of using smartphone applications including messaging, calling, gaming, social media, video applications and photo editing. The survey was conducted based on the demographic breakdown in Jordan for the Jordanian population above 15 years old. The report has 90 pages and 72 exhibits.
Respondents were randomly called through randomly generated numbers. The survey results encompass answers from 832 respondents that passed rigorous quality control checks. Quality control was conducted by the Arab Advisors Group’s team and included randomly re-calling respondents for authenticity and double checking their answers on a selected list of questions. The survey yields a confidence level of 99% with a margin of error of less than 5%.

“The survey revealed high popularity of messaging applications in Jordan; 98.8% of mobile app users reported using them, while 86.3% of mobile app users reported using social media applications. Mobile app users reported a decrease in SMS usage due to reliance on messaging applications.
