As mobile technology continues to reshape access to financial services across the MENA region, mobile payments have emerged as a critical tool for advancing financial inclusion, particularly in regions where underbanked populations are high. Egypt and Sudan present two case studies that highlight both the promise and challenges of expanding financial inclusion through the implementation of mobile payment solutions. While Egypt’s mobile payment sector has demonstrated significant growth, Sudan’s progress continues to be hindered by political conflict and instability.
